Expo Center Sharjah (ECS) has signed a partnership agreement with MIE Events to launch the Middle East Electric Vehicle Expo (MEEVS) in 2025 at the centre.

The agreement sets the stage for the largest event in the electric vehicle industry with the participation of more than 100 global brands. This major event aims to shed light on the future of sustainable transportation and showcasing the latest models in electric, hydrogen and hybrid vehicles and electric bicycles, as well as advanced solutions and technologies in the electric transportation sector.

The signing ceremony took place at the center's headquarters and was attended by Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, and David Wang, Chairman and CEO of MIE Events, along with several officials from both parties.

The project aims to enhance the presence of electric car manufacturers in UAE markets and accelerate the pace of adoption of electric cars, thereby helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the transport sector. This supports the UAE's Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative and the circular economy, while promoting economic development.

The electric vehicle sector represents a promising future for the global industry. The addition of this sector to Expo Sharjah's event lineup confirms the centre's commitment to organizing more specialized exhibitions that present the latest developments and technologies to audiences in the UAE and the region.

Al Midfa expressed hope that the MEEVS 2025 exhibition will serve as an important platform for electric vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, investors and experts to discuss and showcase the latest innovations in this field, and provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and visions and build strategic partnerships that drive progress in the region's EV sector.

For his part, David Wang stated that the partnership between MIE Events and Expo Sharjah to organize the electric car exhibition is a fundamental step to promote sustainable technology and present the latest innovations in the electric car sector.

He praised the centre's commitment to providing a platform that brings together electric vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, investors and experts to discuss and present the latest developments in this vital field.
