BMW R 18 Classic Launched At Rs. 24 Lakhs in India

BMW Motorrad India launched the new BMW R 18 Classic as a fully built unit (CBU) priced at Rs 24 lakhs (ex-showroom). The R 18 Classic is the second member of the cruiser class of the BMW R 18 and has some additional equipment over the standard BMW R 18 model to make it even more cruise-friendly. It has a slightly different passenger seat, clear windshield, a pair of leather-wrapped saddlebags, extra LED headlights, and a smaller 16-inch front wheel. The R 18 Classic is powered by the same air-cooled Big Boxer 1,802 cc engine as the standard BMW R 18.rnrnSpeaking on the launch of the new R 18 Classic, Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India said, "BMW Motorrad made a striking entry into the cruiser segment with the BMW R 18. The 1,802 cc engine produces 91 hp at 4,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 158 Nm available from 2,000 to 4,000 rpm. The R 18 Classic comes with an anti-skid clutch, which limits unwanted skips from the rear wheel, and a 6-speed transmission. Reverse gear is available as an optional extra. Like the standard R 18, three ride modes are offered, Rain, Roll and Rock. The range of electronic devices includes safety features such as automatic stability control, dynamic engine brake control, and hill start system Keyless ignition and electronic cruise control are standard.rn
