Superleggera V4 | Ducati unveils their newest Superbike

Superleggera in Italian means 'super-light'rnrnrn

rnThey say that weight is the enemy of speed so the bike got rid of the aluminium bits for carbon fibre and it is being used to form all the components it can possibly form so as to improve the performance as used in Superleggera V4 rnrnDucati Panigale V4/ V4S is known as one of the fastest and the most technologically advanced superbikes that are currently on sale.  The V4s is a mind-blowing car that we loved to see riding on the Indian Streets.rnrnAfter that, Ducati had launched a V4 R version as well. But Ducati had another surprise for the V4 series. The engineers have made another iteration of the bike, and named it as the Superleggera V4 and have claimed that this model will take the Ducati V4 experience to a whole another level.rnrnThe Superleggera V4 gets carbon-fibre fairing, wheels, swingarm, frame and the subframe. Ducati has successfully cut 6.7 kg weight which is essential for a high-performance superbike. The Superleggera V4 tips the scales at 159kg (dry), that makes it 11 kg lighter than the Panigale V4. The power-to-weight ratio that has been claimed for this is 1.41hp/kg. The company will supply a track-only, titanium Akrapovic exhaust that helps to reduce more weight of the bike to 152.2kg while also increasing the power-to-weight ratio to 1.54hp/kg.rnrnThe bike will be powered by a lightweight engine. The Superleggera V4's has 998 cc, the liquid-cooled motor is also 2.8 kg lighter than the 1,103 cc Panigale V4 motor and makes 224hp in the street-legal trim. After the Akrapovic track exhaust is fitted, this adds another 10hp, making the total output to be 234hp. The engine of the bike makes use of a dry clutch as well as manually adjustable desmodromic timing, that highlights the readiness of the racetrack further.rnrnThe bike has a comprehensive suite of electronics to keep in check with the three reprogrammed riding modes including Race A, Race B and Sports. The Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and up and down Ducati Quickshifter (DQS) have also been upgraded to the EVO2 (latest generation) specifications. Apart from these, the Ohlins suspension has also been updated. The fork bottoms have been made using a lighter aluminium, and the titanium shock absorber and GP-derived valves have been updated to provide improved damping and also tackling the road bumps, the company says.rnrnDucati has also used its MotoGP aero tech to make the huge bi-plane wings on the fairing. The bike produces 50 kg downforce at 270kph which is 20 kg more than the wings on the 2020 Panigale V4 and V4 R. Also, the wings will be able to counter the tendency to wheelie under hard acceleration as well as improve the braking stability. The bike gets  Brembo MCS adjuster and Style R pads when it comes to brakes. There are exclusive to the Superleggera V4.rnrnAs per Ducati, the Superleggera V4 is an ultimate superbike with amazing advancements including being a lightweight, higher power, longer swingarm and others. It has also been claimed to stop quicker, learn faster and attack the corners with better precisionrnrnThe Superleggera will evidently be super expensive, not only because of the materials used or the high performance but because it has been limited to just 500 units, worldwide. The owners of the Superleggera V4 will also have special access to the 'SBK experience'. This is basically a chance to ride the Panigale V4 SBK race machine at the Mugello.rnrnAlso, 30 of the Superleggera V4 owners will be lucky to get a chance to ride the Ducati Desmosedici GP20 Moto GP machine in the guidance of the Ducati Corse technicians. The owners can also buy a Superleggera V4 special edition Dainese tracksuit that comes with a D-Air airbag system as well as a matching, carbon-fibre ARAI helmet.rnrnThe Ducati Superleggera V4 has been scheduled to be delivered in Europe from June 2020.
