Maruti Suzuki achieves 25 million cumulative domestic sales in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation in India, achieved the milestone of 25 million cumulative domestic sales on January 9, 2023. Maruti Suzuki introduced its first car, the Maruti 800, in December 1983. The Indian brand has dominated the market with its best-selling vehicle portfolio since its inception.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki markets 17 vehicles, including petrol and CNG models, which are produced and sold here in the country. Notably, in February 2022, the brand achieved the milestone of selling 1 million CNG models in India.

The automaker recently revealed two popular products, the Fronx and the Jimny, at Auto Expo 2023. The bookings for both have already begun and launches are expected in the first quarter of fiscal 2023-24.
