Honda CB500X – Get excited for more adventure to come

Honda CB500X is an adventure touring bike that is expected to get launched in the coming few months in India. This bike is a special offering from Honda, especially for adventure enthusiasts and professional racers. The bike comes with adventure-inspired elements like the windscreen, half fairing in front and high ground clearance. This CB500X is for those who want to conquer the road. With its powerful two-cylinder engine and long-travel suspension, it was built for your adventures.

This CB500X consists of twin-cylinders that provide it a powerful architecture for long rides. Be it rocky mountains or steep terrains it is obviously going to give the rider with smoother user experience. It posses a liquid-cooled 471cc engine that makes out a maximum power of 47bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 43Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. However, a revised shift drum stopper has been included in the new CB500X for smoother gear shifts and riding pleasure. The suspension duties are carried out by a 41mm telescopic front fork and Pro-Link single shock with a 9-position adjustable spring preload at the rear. For handling the braking mechanism, there is a single 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear. The 17-inch rims at both ends get tyres of specs 120/70 at the front and 160/60 at the rear.

Other specifications owing to the structural architecture of CB500X are mind-blowing. With a bodily dimension of 2155mm X 825mm X 1410mm; it has a high ground clearance of 180mm, most suitable for the bumpy speed breakers on Indian roads. It has a large bulk fuel tank that can hold up to 17.7 liters. However, it will be slightly difficult for long riders to hear that it gives a mileage of only 28.6km/L  i.e. it one can travel 100km using 3.5 liters of petrol. Though it is designed especially for adventure tours, it is also known for its racing qualities, with respect to its top speed of 168km per hour.

Whether you want to take a brief trip through the rough city streets or explore the endless vistas of the open road, the CB500X is ready. Its 41mm telescopic forks and Pro-Link rear monoshock offer smooth, extended travel to absorb hits. Both are adjustable for spring pre-load, tailoring the steering geometry to accommodate a pillion and full luggage.

Adventure is meaningless if your ride is uncomfortable. The CB500X’s steel diamond-tube frame has a tuned rigidity balance to enhance feedback. The seat height is 830mm, which makes the riding position upright and relaxed, offering excellent forward visibility and control.

Increased ground clearance improves performance on rough roads, and three extra degrees of tu
ing angle on the handlebars give you outstanding handling. A 19-inch front wheel improves stability and roll-over ability, and block-patte
tyres ensure tenacious grip and feedback. The raised windscreen keeps you protected for a more enjoyable ride.

Without control, power is useless. The new CB500X features a single front 310mm wavy disc and powerful two-piston brake caliper matched to a 240mm rear disc and single-piston caliper. Dual-channel ABS is fitted as standard. Now you can easily manage braking force in wet or dry conditions.

When you’re exploring the open road, you need a clear, concise information panel. The CB500X features a new, attractive negative-display LCD dash to alleviate any tensions you might have. It includes a Speedo and rev-counter, dual trip meters, fuel level, and consumption gauges and a Gear Position Indicator.
