Apollo launches Amazer XP low rolling resistance tyres

Apollo launched a new range of tyres for the Indian market. Called Apollo Amazer XP, the low rolling resistance tyres are intended for the entry-level passenger car market right now. The company has included several models in the hatchback and sedan classes that could work in the Amazer XP range.

What is Apollo Amazer XP?

The company says the Amazer XP tyres were developed using a compound that imparts "best in class" rolling resistance and thus improves fuel efficiency. The contoured strip patte
and groove design are also claimed to reduce road noise and aid comfort.
Apollo claims the Amazer XP has "received OE (original equipment) approval" for the Renault Kwid, Tata Tigor EV, Hyundai Grand i10, and Datsun Go and Go +. Additionally, the tyre assembly can also be used in the following car models:
145/80 R12 - Maruti Suzuki Alto
155/65 R14 - Maruti WagonR
165/70 R14 - Renault Kwid, Datsun Go and Go +, Nissan Micra
165/80 R14 - Maruti Swift, Tata Altruz
175/65 R14 - Honda Amaze, Tata Bolt and Zest, Toyota Etios
185/65 R14 -  Old Hyundai i20
185/70 R14 - Mahindra Verito

Apollo Amazer XP tyres were released in the seven sizes listed above, with five more tyres to join the group in the future. Additionally, Apollo has not officially set prices for its new product.

Plans of Apollo for India

Apollo recently revealed its results for the third quarter of FY 2021 and is a strong performer, increasing its ea
ings by 155% to Rs. 444 crore. The company also revealed its plans to manufacture premium quality tyres under the Vredestein brand in India, following the gove
ment's decision to reduce tyre imports into the country.

Apollo targets the mass market segment with the Amazer XP

With the Amazer XP, Apollo is targeting the mass market segment that the company says sees a sales volume of close to 2 lakh of tyres per month. Designed with input from the company's R&D centers in Chennai and  Enschede, Netherlands, the new product, the new product is manufactured at Apollo factories in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu, Limda, and Gujarat.
