The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet has been launched in India with a price tag of ₹1.10 crore (ex-showroom). This new model slots between the C-Class and E-Class Cabriolets, replacing the discontinued variants in this category. The CLE Cabriolet is available exclusively in the AMG Line trim, featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a fabric soft-top roof.
Built on the Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) platform, the CLE Cabriolet shares its design with the latest C-Class and the upcoming E-Class. It sports a larger grille with a distinctive shark-nose effect, an elongated bonnet, and a fabric soft-top that folds neatly into the trunk. The AMG Line trim adds sportier touches, including aggressive bumpers, larger air intakes, and updated alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the CLE 300 variant is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, complemented by a 48V mild-hybrid system. This combination produces 254 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Cabriolet can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h.
Inside, the CLE Cabriolet features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch vertically oriented infotainment display, drawing design cues from the C-Class. It offers a 2+2 seating arrangement and is the first Mercedes-Benz cabriolet to include separate head airbags for rear passengers. The soft top, available in a striking red, can be opened or closed at speeds up to 60 km/h, with the process taking just 20 seconds.
