For motorsport enthusiasts, there are two kinds of races in the world- the Isle of Man Trophy Tournament and the rest. There is nothing quite like it on Earth as the Isle of Man TT Races. No other motorcycle race is held on such a difficult track as the 37 and 3/4-mile track in 17 minutes across the Mountain Course with its apparently unlimited series of bends in the top Superbike and Superstock class. It is one of the most incredible motorcycle races in the planet which boasts of a footfall of almost 50,000 spectators every year.

The Isle of Man is a small island located between England and Ireland in the Irish Sea. It’s known as a tax safe haven and a quaint little vacation spot for about 11 months a year. Out of these 11 months, two weeks are dedicated to one of the most dramatic and dangerous races ever - the Isle of Man TT - which dates back to 1907.

With average speeds for the fastest riders exceeding 133mph on the flying laps, the sight of a TT competitor at full race speed is something if once seen, can never be forgotten.

The race is classified into - Superbike, Sidecar, Supersport, Superstock, Lightweight, TT Zero (electric motorcycles) and - the most prestigious of all - the Senior TT. Typically, the only racers who profit, are the ones finishing in the top three. Although sponsorships help with the cost of competing, those who come here often do it only for the love of motorcycle racing and not for the sake of earning money. In fact, most TT racers run regular day jobs for the majority of the year.

The Isle of Man TT starts from 26th May 2018 and will continue for a fortnight till the 8th of June 2018. This year the Race Schedule comes in a packed timetable of nine races so there’s much to watch at the event:

Date Time Race  Lap count
Saturday 6th June 11:00 Superbike TT Race 6 laps
14:00 Sidecar TT Race 1 3 laps
Monday 8th June 10:45 Supersport TT Race 1 4 laps
14:00 Superstock TT Race 4 laps
Wednesday 10th June 10:45 TT Zero Challenge 1 lap
12:00 Supersport TT Race 2 4 laps
14:15 Sidecar TT Race 2 3 laps
Friday 12th June 10:15 Lightweight TT Race 3 laps
12:30 Senior TT Race 6 laps

Both 9th June and 11th June are on hold as alternate race days in case any race needs to be rescheduled due to bad weather.

The famous Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road is the home of the Start to Finish line and pits and is an absolutely fantastic place to watch, as such, it is one of the only places on the course you’ll have to pay to view from but it’s surely worth it. Not only do you get the view of the bikes soaring down Glencrutchery road and onto Bray Hill at 170mph, but you get a clear view of the pits which will be full of action during the races.

The TT website and mobile app host a fantastic live timing service for you to be able to track the riders wherever they are at any point of the circuit.
